The story of South Africa begins when the Portuguese arrived. This was the time when written records started to be written. People from all across Europe migrated to South Africa. This proves the variety of culture in the country. There are many people from different ethnic backgrounds throughout South Africa. The country is situated in the south of Africa. It has a very large coast. There are great landscapes and marvellous experiences for anyone coming to travel to the country.

There are several places to travel to  in south Africa. These provide immense pleasure to the tourists. The capital of South Africa is Pretoria. It is a very important industrial hub of the country.It also has the national zoo in its premises. The zoo is a very popular tourist attraction in the country. There are some major travelling cities in the country like Johannesburg, Bloemfontein and so on. One should definitely visit these cities.

The shores of Cape Town are greatly famous travel destinations indeed. Cape town has Table Mountain which is one of the most beautiful places in South Africa. It gives magnificent views over the city and all its beaches. Forests, lake, lagoons, channels and rivers of Garden Route are a natural theme park and an exceptionally lovely place. The Cape Wine lands with cheese and wine experiences would make the voyages extra luscious. A few of the best wines in the world are produced here in Cape Town.

A popular city for young and old alike is Johannesburg. Much of the city's activity comes from its location as a major airline hub. If you are a history buff, Johannesburg is filled with museums and art collections; you can also visit colonial Africian sites rich with history in the nearby town of Sowete. For a change of pace, resorts are in Durban and Port Elizabeth. Durban is the site of two popular nature reserves: the Burman Bush Nature Reserve and the Beachwood Mangroves Nature Reserve. Port Elizabeth has a thriving nightclub culture, and both cities are loved for their beaches.

Sun City offers tourists more traditional experiences. Here, you can book a safari in a hot air balloon, ride an elephant, or go biking with friends. You can kick back and relax, or visit Pilanesberg National Park for hiking.

Kruger National Park is the most popular nature reserve in South Africa. Owing to its great environment and a variety of animal species, this park is a huge wildlife reserve. The Kruger National Park is considered to be the among the top three safari destinations in Africa. It is also considered the best site in South Africa for bird watching. At this place you would get the chance to see the Big Five (elephant, lion, leopard, rhino and buffalo).Hermanus is popular as the world's best land-based whale watching destination. It also organizes a very famous Whale Festival. The Drakensberg (Dragon Mountains) is the ideal spot for photographing the beauties of the nature.

There are many natural as well as game reserves, national parks, historical locations, attractive sceneries in South Africa. Lavish hotels contribute further to the comfort and delight of the tourists. South Africa is an amazing travel destination and offers the visitors a magnificent experience.
