Cheap Airline Tickets Tips

Airline ticket prices can vary enormously, even in very short time periods. The price you are given in the morning can vary greatly throughout the course of a day! Airlines tend to base their varying ticket prices on three factors, demand, availability and competition.

This will tend to make flights to less popular destinations significantly more expensive than flights to more popular airports. This can also mean that prices will fall further if an airline is having difficulty filling seats.

Start Your Research Early

If you really want to save some cash always start your search as early as possible. By early I mean at least one month in advance, not just a week or two. Although air fares can fall they tend to increase so searching as early as possible is always a good idea.

Shop Around

Always take some time to shop around the various airlines, either by telephoning or by using their websites. Keep notes and play one airline off against another by telling them the best prices that you have been quoted so far. It’s a good idea to tell airlines that you are flexible over your date and time of departure in order to be quoted the best possible prices. Don’t give specific dates, just ask for the lowest price for your destination.

Make Good Use of Discounts

Airline discounts can sometimes be a false economy. Most discounted flights come with a whole load of restrictions that you need to be aware of such as date and time of travel. The take full advantage of any discount you will often have to book your flight at least three or four weeks in advance. It is worth discussing discount opportunities with specific airlines so that you are aware of their requirements and can take full advantage of their discount offers.

Buy Two Way Tickets

Be sure to buy return tickets rather than buy separate one way tickets for your return journey.

Use Your Age for Discounts

If you are a student you may be eligible for specific student discounts. There may be specific discounts for senior travellers so its always worth asking.

I hope that you will be able to save some cash by following some of my suggestions.

For more travel savings I recommend booking your Birmingham Airport Parking, Heathrow Parking or Gatwick Parking as far in advance as possible.
